Blue stone

As well as painting, the artist Nicoletta Bracchioni is also involved with sculpture and ceramics. The motifs for her designer wallpapers are influenced by marble and Japanese Raku pottery: the patterns remind you of the craquelling glaze, the cracks in the surface of pottery, or the classic marbled stone. The wallpapers look appropriately classy, particularly those in the more soothing shades of grey, white and beige. Far more vivid are the colourful variations of Bracchioni’s designer wallpapers: as your gaze follows the trails of colour, you suddenly notice pictures: this composition in red, orange and yellow looks like a firework, doesn’t it? And these blue and green shades – like the Earth seen from above. The colourfulness of Bracchioni’s abstract wallpaper motifs makes them particularly striking. They are also suitable for decorating a wall in front of which a piece of furniture is to be placed.
